As a result of our efforts in Mathematics and Data Science Education, Okayama University was certificated in MDASH (Approved Program for Mathematics, Data science and AI Smart Higher Education)-Advanced Literacy by MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) on August 25, 2023.

This certification system was established in cooperation with the Cabinet Office, MEXT and METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry). To promote the field of Mathematics, Data Science and AI, the Minister of MEXT selects and approves regular courses at universities and other institutions that provide systematic education on knowledge and skills related to Mathematics, Data Science and AI. The aims of this certification are to generate interest in these studies, to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts, and to foster basic skills for their utilization.

Okayama University was certificated in MDASH-Literacy by MEXT in FY2021, and the MDASH-Advanced Literacy is a curriculum for students who wish to study further, tailored to the expertise of each faculty.
