On April 24, President VALERIO DE CESARIS and others from the University for Foreigners of Perugia in Italy visited Okayama University, where they paid a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo.

The University for Foreigners of Perugia is the longest-established national university, founded to promote education and research on the Italian language. Every year, thousands of foreign students come to study at the university from over 100 countries throughout the world. The university plays a central role in Italian language education, as well as culture and history education for foreign citizens.

During this courtesy call, President Nasu, as well as the Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni SUZUKI Takayoshi, and Associate Professor INAMORI Takao from the Institute of Global Human Resource Development were present. The participants exchanged opinions on the significance of studying abroad , which is not only limited to language studies, but also to learn about different cultures ,for the purpose of the conclusion of an agreement. This visit is expected to help commence interaction programs and to strengthen further interactions between the universities.
