President Nguyen Van Khai of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy (hereinafter “HPUMP”) and others visited Okayama University on July 27th and paid a courtesy visit to President NASU Yasutomo.

Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni SUZUKI Takayoshi and Professor KUBOKI Takuo (Professor Emeritus of HPUMP) of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences were also present during the courtesy visit. After evaluating the past exchange achievements, the presidents signed a memorandum of understanding confirming the automatic renewal of the inter-university exchange agreement. During the exchange HPUMP session, future exchanges for the development of young faculty members at HPUMP was actively discussed.

The exchange between HPUMP and Okayama University began in 2010 by the conclusion of an interdepartmental agreement with the Dental School. In 2014, Okayama University Hospital sent their dentists to HPUMP's affiliated hospital to establish an "International Dental Center". In 2015, the agreement was upgraded to an inter-university agreement. Currently, HPUMP is actively engaged as an important partner institution under the MEXT Priority Graduate Program "A special PhD course for organ regeneration, oral reconstruction and integrative biology to collaborate with ASEAN leading medical universities".
