On September 30 and October 1, Okayama University's Yacht Club participated in the 73rd Chugoku Student Yacht Championship held at Kannon Marina in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. They secured the runner-up position in both the 470 class and Snipe class, ultimately achieving the overall runner-up title.

The event featured 4 universities competing in each class, with 9 boats in the 470 class and 12 boats in the Snipe class. Representing Okayama University in the 470 class were pairs MIYAMOTO Yusuke (3rd-year, School of Science) and MITAMURA Koki (2nd-year, School of Engineering), MIZUNOYA Rina (3rd-year, School of Science) and NAKAO Yuta Nakao (3rd-year, School of Economics), and FUJIMOTO Haruki (3rd-year, Faculty of Law) and EMURA Hayase (2nd-year, School of Engineering). In the Snipe class, the pairs included IWAGUCHI Atsushi (3rd-year, School of Science) and IHA Haruka (2nd-year, Faculty of Law), IMADA Rina (2nd-year, School of Engineering) and SAITO Minori (3rd-year, School of Letters), YASUI Rino (2nd-year, School of Agriculture) and YAMASHITA Kio (2nd-year, School of Engineering), and KIYOTO Sora (2nd-year, School of Engineering).

After the competition, the club's captain, FUJIMOTO Haruki commented, "This year, we faced a challenging situation with no fourth-year members, but both the players and managers worked hard for this competition. In this championship, our second-year members, with just one and a half years of yachting experience, achieved results that matched the third-year members. We are not satisfied with the runner-up position, and we aim to utilize what we've learned in this event for our future training so that we can secure the championship next year.
