On November 16, President Xu Haiyang from Northeast Normal University, and Vice Principal Gao Ying of the Preparatory School for Chinese Students to Japan visited Okayama University. They paid a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo. In addition to President Nasu, Dr. SUGA Seiji (Executive Director for Academic Affairs and Senior Vice President) and Dr. SUZUKI Takayoshi (Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni) also attended to welcome the delegation. President Xu stated, "Okayama University has been an important partner university with Northeast Normal University for a long time and has made efforts by dispatching Okayama University Professors to China for Chinese students who receive Japanese Government Scholarship to provide preparatory education before they start education in Japan. We hope to strengthen our exchanges further in the future." In response to that statement, President Nasu introduced the University’s exchanges with China and discussed future exchange developments.

The Northeast Normal University delegation also observed Japanese language classes, attended a gathering with Northeast Normal University students currently studying at Okayama University, and participated in discussions with the faculty members who have taught the Preparatory course for Chinese Students.

The collaboration between the two universities is expected to be further strengthened by this visit.
