Rain or Shine! Okayama University Festival Held

November 15, 2024

On November 2 and 3, the Okayama University Festival (Tsushima Festival) was held at the Tsushima East Campus. On the first day, due to bad weather, the start time was delayed, but many people attended, and true to this year’s theme, "Clapping and Cheers Okayama Festival – A Festival Full of Energy," it turned out to be a lively event.

The campus was bustling with 82 diverse booths offering everything from yakisoba (fried noodles), yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), churros, cheese balls, shooting games, to secondhand clothes. Students were actively inviting visitors, creating a lively atmosphere. On the four special stages set up across the venue, there were various cultural and sports club activities, music performances, and even the university president participating in a contest. In addition, student groups showcased dance and performance art, engaging with the visitors. Under the Umbrella Sky set up on the west side of Peach Union, visitors could be seen taking photos, and throughout the campus, many people were enjoying the event.

Looking back on the festival, the chairperson of the festival executive committee, MURAYAMA Shutaroh (School of Economics, 2nd year) said, "Thank you very much for attending the Okayama University Festival. On behalf of the executive committee, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and cooperated with us. This year, we had a delay due to heavy rain, but after the weather improved, the festival became a lively event, and I am very happy about that. Going forward, we will continue to work hard so that more people will attend, and through the festival, they will learn more about the charm of Okayama University."

Many students, including the festival executive committee, had been preparing for the event, and thanks to the cooperation of the visitors, the two-day festival was completed. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success!
