On November 7, the Master's Degree Program of the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences held the O-NECUS Program Autumn Seminar -Student Recruitment 2025- online via Zoom. The seminar aims to recruit outstanding students and enhance research exchanges. This year, it was held in collaboration with four partner universities: Harbin Medical University, Jilin University, China Medical University, and Dalian Medical University. A total of 47 students and 15 officials from these universities participated.
The Master's Degree Program (Medical and Dental Sciences Degree Program) in the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences annually accepts numerous short-term exchange students from partner universities in Northeast China under the O-NECUS Program, and promotes their further advancement into the Doctoral Course (Post O-NECUS) after completing the program.
During the seminar, faculty members who are the O-NECUS program alumni and are dedicating themselves to research in the department, along with current students, took the lead in disseminating and sharing the latest information.
The seminar was moderated hosted by an international student in the third year of the Doctoral Course in Oral Pathology. After a promotional video about the program was shown, Professor OOHASHI Toshitaka, Chair of the Master's Degree Program, introduced an overview of the O-NECUS Program.
Following that, Assistant Professor Wang Ziyi (Post O-NECUS, from Dalian Medical University) introduced the department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Subsequently. Assistant Professor Gao Tong (Post O-NECUS, from Dalian Medical University) presented the department of Pathology and Experimental Medicine. A third-year Post O-NECUS international student introduced the department of Virology, and Assistant Professor Weng Yao, along with a third-year Post O-NECUS international student and an O-NECUS 2024 exchange student, introduced the department field of Oral Morphology. Additionally, there were introductions to the students' experiences in the O-NECUS Program, lab life, living in Okayama, and career paths.
In the subsequent Q&A session, there were numerous questions from participating students regarding language proficiency, scholarships, and admission to regular courses. The session featured lively and active discussions.
