On September 5, Okayama University was selected as a research support site for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)'s Translational Research Network Program.
This program supports translational research, which applies the results of core research in life sciences into practical medicine. It seeks to form an organizational structure to create Japanese-led innovative pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and so on based on a comprehensive process from core research to practical realization.
Okayama University will establish a translational research site able to appropriately meet diverse needs in medicine, dentistry, nursing care and so on, focused on research and development in the new medical fields created due to Japan's aging society.
