The university held the 9th “Okayama University Exhibition of Wisdom 2014” at the 50th Anniversary Hall on November 14th.

Vice-Executive Director/Senior URA Ph.D Shuichi Furuya made the opening remarks. Mr. Keiichi Suyama, the group leader of the corporate planning department of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation delivered a lecture titled, “The challenge of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ)—Sending out domestic passenger planes into the world’s skies.” He talked about what lead to the development of the MRJ, why it is a regional jet, and introduced its features and more.

74 booths, the most on record, were set up at the exhibition venue this year. Booths included, the Institute of Plant Science and Resources that celebrated its 100th anniversary since establishment, the Student Formula (a car race), an exhibit of an actual robot, and more. The people who were providing explanations at the respective booths, such as teachers and graduate students, were exchanging opinions with visitors. Approximately 440 people participated, including those involved with the exhibition.

The 10th exhibition is scheduled to be held next year on Friday, December 4th.
