On April 19, President Hirofumi Makino was delighted to receive a courtesy visit from Director General Shin-Yang Chen of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Osaka.
During the meeting, President Hirofumi Makino, Executive Vice President for International Affairs Hiroshi Kanzaki, Executive Director for Hospital and Medical Service Susumu Kanazawa, and other university officials exchanged views with Director General Chen regarding the state of exchanges with Taiwan and the potential for the development of exchanges in the future. Director General Chen, a former graduate student at Okayama University, enjoyed reviving fond memories of the campus after many years of absence.
Okayama University has concluded exchange agreements with 17 universities and institutes on Taiwan and is engaged in lively student and research exchanges in a wide range of fields. We look forward to coordinating with Taiwan’s government, universities and companies in the future, including cooperation regarding the Neutron Therapy Research Center established at Okayama University in April this year.
