Okayama University held the 2018 Open Campus on August 9th and 10th at Tsushima and Shikata Campuses, respectively. Blessed with good weather, the event was attended by about 19,000 senior high school students and their parents from Okayama and other Prefectures. It was a great opportunity for the participants to experience daily life at Okayama University.
All eleven faculties and the Discovery Program for Global Learners planned individual events such as faculty introduction, entrance exam explanations, guided laboratory tours by current students, campus tours usually not open to the public, a friendly meeting with current students, and an introduction to activities by Okayama University Alumni Association. Participating senior high school students actively enjoyed all the events while taking notes and asking questions about campus life.
In addition, a consultation meeting was held on admissions, scholarships, and study abroad programs at the Student Union Building in Tsushima Campus, and was attended by many senior high school students and their parents.
