On September 7, an entrance ceremony was held for eight 12th course students of the Okayama-Hue International Master’s Program at Hue University, Vietnam.
President Hirofumi Makino, Dean of the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science Hiroaki Funahashi, Hue University President Nguyen Quang Linh, and Rector of Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry Le Van An attended the ceremony. President and Chief Executive Operating Officer Hisashi Matsuda from Ryobi Holdings Co., Ltd., which has supported this course for a long period of time as a sponsor company of these students, also attended the ceremony and congratulated the new students.
President Makino expressed his appreciation for the people related to the course, including President Linh, and encouraged the new students, saying “I expect you to master your own research fields, and serve as a bridge for development between Japan and Vietnam.” President Linh said, “I expect our exchanges with Okayama University will develop into broad fields beyond the agricultural and environmental fields.” With the 11th course students, who are currently studying at Hue University, and graduates from the course also gathering at the venue, and with President Makino and President Matsuda enjoying a pleasant talk, the ceremony had a friendly atmosphere from beginning to end.
