On September 16, Changchun University of Science and Technology (Changchun, Jilin, China) held a ceremony to celebrate its 60th anniversary at the university. From Okayama University, the Executive Vice President for Education, International Affairs, Hiroshi Sano, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Masanobu Abe, attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, speeches were made by the Communist Party Secretary of Changchun University of Science and Technology Yang Yuxin, the party committee secretary of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, the Communist Party Secretary of Jilin University, and the rector of ITMO University (Russia), and some other officials. Since Okayama University and Changchun University of Science and Technology signed an exchange agreement in August 2012, the two universities have promoted researcher exchange and student exchange with a focus on the Okayama University-North East China Universities Platform, Graduate Student Exchange Program (O-NECUS).
