A total of 28 students from the Faculty of Medicine at P.R.China’s Zhejiang University visited Okayama University to participate in the Okayama University Summer Program, which ran from July 16 to 19. This program, which is designed to enable participants to experience what it is like to study medicine at Okayama University, is implemented by the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences with the support of the Japan-P.R.China Study Abroad Promotion Organization, an NPO which promotes exchanges between Japanese and Chinese universities.
At the beginning of the program, Dr. Yasutomo Nasu, Dean of the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, who also serves as the Chair of the Health Science Campus Globalization Project Promotion Council, said in his greetings, “I am delighted to welcome you to our University.” After being informed about Okayama University and the Okayama area, students were given a tour of the campus.
The summer program included special lectures by faculty members of the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a tour of the Center for Education in Medicine and Health Sciences and Okayama University Hospital, and visits to laboratories of various departments, such as the Departments of Medical Neurobiology, Pharmacology and Cell Biology. At the end of the program, each student was awarded a certificate of completion by Dr. Hideyo Ohuchi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
