September 25, 2019

On September 12, 2019, the Faculty of Economics and the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Okayama University held, in collaboration with Okayama prefectural government, and Okayama University’s L-café and International Affairs Department, a research briefing session and exchange event for their students and two students enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program at Stanford University. These Stanford students were working at the Okayama prefectural government as part of this year’s Stanford’s Global Management Immersion Experience, a short-term internship program outside the U.S.

Four students of Okayama University’s Faculty of Economics and the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, who are taking the seminar taught by Specially-appointed Professor NAKAMURA Ryohei, reported the result of their analysis on the theme “Local economic structures in Okayama Prefecture.” Meanwhile, the two Stanford students each made presentations relating to Okayama Prefecture on the themes “Business strategies of professional sports clubs” and “Analysis on inbound tourism.” Each presentation was followed by an active question and answer session, which led to deeper understanding of local business strategies among the students of both countries. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for Okayama University students to exchange views with students of one of the world’s leading universities.
