On the 21st of January, representatives from Sister Nivedita University, including Vice Chancellor Ashoke Ranjan Thakur and Mentor and Advisor Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call to President MAKINO Hirofumi. Okayama University Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in Health Systems and Sister Nivedita University signed a department-level exchange agreement in March 2019. So, Dean of the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in Health Systems, SENO Masaharu, and Vice Dean GOFUKU Akio were also in attendance. Participants expressed their hopes for future exchanges.
Five faculty members, researchers, and graduate students of Sister Nivedita University visited Okayama University to join the Sakura Science Plan, an initiative of the Japan Science and Technology Agency. During their visit, representatives learnt more about the activities of the Graduate school and also had the opportunity to visit Tsushima and Shikata campuses.
Vice Chancellor Thakur and three other executive officials also participated in the 11th International Symposium for Future Technology Creating Better Human Health and Society, hosted by the Graduate School, where Dr. Walaa Saad Hanafy of the Egyptian National Research Center and Dr. Samuel Abraham of the Nichi-In Centre for Regenerative Medicine had a lively discussion on the significance of integrated science.
All parties hope that this visit will encourage further exchange between the two universities.
