Department of Operative Dentistry

Message from the Director of the Department

Teeth have a weak healing ability, so timely and minimally invasive treatment for dental diseases like caries and tooth fractures is crucial for maintaining their longevity. Our goal in conservative dentistry is to refine the precision of treatments for dental diseases by improving clinical techniques and introducing the latest dental materials and equipment. Our department is staffed by qualified instructors and specialists from the Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry and the Japan Endodontic Association.

Features and Description of Medical Care

The Department of Operative Dentistry provides conservative treatment for the morphological and functional restoration of tooth substance loss caused by caries and other tooth hard-tissue diseases. These treatments also prevent pulp-related and periodontal tissue diseases. Furthermore, we provide treatment for the root canals of a tooth with the pulp infected by advanced caries, often accompanied with severe pain. If caries are left untreated, they never heal spontaneously. Therefore, early detection and early cure are important. A person might have dental caries if they experience pain induced by sweet foods such as chocolate, tooth sensitivity to cold water, and tooth sensitivity to hot water. We also perform painless treatments for dentin hypersensitivity, by which teeth without caries are sensitive to cold water or ice cream. Additionally, we conduct esthetic restoration such as whitening.

For outpatient visits

After proper receipt of informed consent, we formulate treatment plans according to a patient’s wishes and choose treatment methods through discussion with them. Only then do we perform the necessary tests and treatments.
Additionally, we perform esthetic restoration such as whitening and ceramic restoration.
