Message from the Head of Medical Center for Children
In September 2012, Okayama University Hospital established an in-hospital organization, the Medical Center for Children, to provide advanced and comprehensive medical care for sick children. Yoshinobu Maeda presides over the Center as its Director. Hirokazu Tsukahara (Professor in Pediatrics) and Mitsutaka Tanimoto (Associate Professor in Pediatric Surgery) serve respectively as Vice-directors in charge of management.

Features and Description of Medical Care
The Center provides innovative medical technology to children in safety and security as the last bastion hospital for children. The constituent clinical departments of Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Neurology (Tomoyuki Akiyama, Acting Director), Pediatric Cardiology (Hirokazu Tsukahara, Director), and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (Hirokazu Tsukahara, Director), Pediatric Dentistry (Michiyo Nakano, Director), Pediatric Anesthesiology (Tatsuo Iwasaki, Director), Pediatric Radiology (Takao Hiraki, Director), Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery (Shingo Kasahara, Director), and Child Psychosomatic Medicine (Ayumi Okada，Director) undertake the management, further development, and closer cooperation and collaboration with clinical departments and divisions that are indispensable for sophisticated pediatric medical care.
