Scope of Target Diseases
Orthodontics is a form of dental treatment intended to treat malocclusion and improper teeth and jaw positioning. Crowded, protruded, and crooked teeth along with difficulties associated with the bite of the teeth can be treated using orthodontics. Our aim is to provide each patient with a beautiful smile that will enhance your confidence and long-term health and comfort through the highest quality orthodontic treatment. We founded Craniofacial Center in Okayama University Hospital since 2009, offer a multidisciplinary team-based approach in the treatment of severe skeletal and dental deformities with rich clinical experience and good cooperation with medical and dental consultant colleagues such as neurological surgery, plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial oral surgery, which might result from genetic factors, trauma. Additionally, we founded Advanced Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Center in Okayama University Hospital since 2015, offer a multidisciplinary team-based approach in the treatment of cleft lip and cleft palate (CLCP) through good systemized cooperation with plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, speech therapist (ST) and related staffs.
Features and Description of Medical Care
Orthodontic treatment is aimed to create optimal occlusion, achieving stable oral function and a beautiful smile by controlling growth or orthognathic surgery. We offer optimized treatment for all ages, from children to adults who require such treatment. With advantage of our hospital, we offer comprehensive treatment in cooperation with medical and dental consultant colleagues such as conservative dentistry, preventive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, pediatrics, periodontics, prosthodontics, maxillofacial and oral surgery, plastic surgery, and neurosurgery through Craniofacial Center, and Advanced Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Center in Okayama University Hospital. For the diversifying needs of patients, we offer novel treatment techniques such as miniscrews, lingual brackets, invisible appliances, and other forms of esthetic braces are also available. For patients with sensitive to pain, we use light force and optimal materials. Thus, we offer all the orthodontic services provided by a modern orthodontic practice in a patient-centered, high-quality, innovative, efficient, comfortable, and safe environment.
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m except Wednesday. On Wednesday, our clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. (Extended Hours). At the first consultation, a doctor specializing in the treatment required for each patient is assigned to the case. Some of our staff members are used to speaking English. They are certified as Members of the Orthodontics Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MOrth RCSEd). Residents provide treatment under the direct supervision of faculty orthodontists. All faculty members are certified by the Board of the Japanese Orthodontic Society.
