What is the Psychiatric Liaison Team?
Lymphedema, swelling in one or more extremities, occurs after concurrent treatment of cancer, after trauma, or because of congenital stagnation of lymphatic flow. Early detection and early start of treatment are keys to preventing deterioration. Current facilities can treat lymphedema professionally.
Our lymphedema treatment team consists of medical lymphatic drainage therapists, doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. Together, we provide suitable treatment for each and every patient. We also provide optimal care in line with the severity of lymphedema and the degree of daily living behavior in collaboration with complete decongestive therapy - specialized hospital in Okayama city. We started lymphedema surgery in 2000. To the present day, we have had more than 800 cases including lymphatico-venular anastomosis, vascularized lymph node transplantation, and liposuction. It is also possible to combine multiple procedures according to individual conditions and demands.
