What is the Division of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy?
The division provides treatment mainly for urolithiasis and pancreatic calculi using extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) equipment. For outpatient treatment of urolithiasis, doctors of urology are engaged in treatment three days a week (Mon, Wed, and Fri). Placing outpatient treatment at the center, we practice minimally invasive and effective treatment rapidly. We have organized a system enabling patients to receive treatment easily and smoothly. Currently, we offer about 30 sessions a year. The operating rate can be increased further. Having crash carts and vital sign measuring equipment (e.g. blood pressure gauge) ready in the treatment room, we provide treatments assigning the utmost importance to safety.
